About Family
We appreciate the interest that you have shown in our Shaker Furniture.
Our interest in furniture making began in the early 1970's with a small workshop and showroom
in Centerville, Ohio. After 6 years, a desire to develop our skills and expand our knowledge of fine furniture led us to New England where we chose Vermont, for its beauty and rural nature, to raise our three children. Since the beginning our children were an integral part of our business activities and from an early age developed interests that closely parallel ours. Upon Meghan's graduation from college in 1989, McGuire Family Furniture became a reality, and three months prior to Michael's college graduation in 1991, production began.
Meghan and her husband have moved to Texas.
Michael started his own custom made furniture business, and continued working with Jack and Linda.
Jack and Linda, continue to do what they love, making heirloom quality furniture and clocks.
If you enjoy what keeps you young, why stop.
Isle La Motte, Vermont, a historic Island in Lake Champlain, fifty minutes north of Burlington,
Vermont, and fifty minutes south of Montreal, Quebec, was our original workshop home and showroom.
Jack and Linda, moved to Tennessee to continue our furniture making business. In 2012, Jack was diagnosed with Cancer, and continued to build furniture and work on an early Tobacco Barn into a home. Jack passed in September of 2020, living a full life, enjoying life in Vermont and Tennessee.
Linda continues to help Michael with his business, handcrafting the McGuire Family Furniture collection of Shaker Furniture.
In addition to Shaker Handcrafted Furniture, the family produces traditional Grandfather Clocks, and Wall Clocks.
Our furniture have found homes in most of the 50 states, in Europe and Asia.
